Augusta Georgia -

Another US Masters and another brilliantly exciting end to the first major of the year on the US PGA tour.

Bubba Watson and Jordan Spieth were the last to tee off on Sunday afternoon both all tied at (-5) for the tournament. Immediately a duel ensued as Spieth applied the pressure off the tee with Watson responding equally well until the Par 5 2nd hole where Spieth made a spectacular hole out of the green side bunker to make birdie taking the solo lead. After a bogey by Waston on the Par 4 third, Spieth went two ahead for the lead. As things seemed to be slipping from Bubba’s grip, birdies on the 4th, 6th, 8th and 9th helped Watson make the turn in (-8) and two shots ahead of Spieth.

The experienced 2012 Masters winner composed himself well on the back nine of the beautiful Augusta National golf course and cruised to well deserved victory for a total tournament score of 8 under Par. Finishing 2 shots ahead of the Augusta rookies Jonas Blixt and Jordan Spieth who narrowly missed his birdie putts on the Par 3 17th and the 18th.

The closing holes saw an in form Jonas Blixt make a clutch performance to try and keep himself in contention for the win. Unfortunately he couldn’t convert and made Par on the closing holes finishing at a very respectable (-6) for the tournament and tied for 2nd place with Jordan Spieth.

Walking up the 18th Bubba Watson struggled to hold back the emotions as he finished his round, claimed the 2014 Major title and picked up his son to celebrate with his wife. Amazing creativity, brilliant shot shaping and a solid mentality was the winning recipe on Sunday afternoon for the 2014 Masters Tournament.

Along with the title of the 2014 Masters Tournament Champion, Watson picks up a cheque for $ 1,620,000.00 and 600 Fed Ex Cup Points moving him into 2nd place.
